This has been one of the longest hiatuses in blogging for me. It's ironic though that I still manage to find time to blog even when I'm really busy as opposed to not posting anything even though I'm much more free right now.

That being said, I've only got a month left at home. I know this sounds cliche and as much as I want to avoid it, time really does fly. Half of my summer break gone, just like that.

Euro 2012 ended yesterday. Staying up till 5-6 am for a few nights every week wasn't really that difficult to be honest, since my regular sleeping hours (start) were between 2-4am. I caught more than half of the matches and thoroughly enjoyed most, if not all of them. Of course, only a few were particularly memorable and thrilling. I'm glad that Spain won and am also really glad that it's over although not having any match to watch in the morning now is weird. But that's okay.

I have to say that the final displayed all the reasons why Spain are world and Euro champions, creating history as well. The players gave their all, AS a team. They proved you don't need a Ronaldo or a Balotelli to score goals. And Torres proved himself to be selfless when he so generously assisted for the final goal which he could've so easily struck himself... The complete opposite of someone most of us know. Despite leaving the Reds, I still have great admiration for him as a footballer and I am glad he got the Golden Boot as well.

Been spending a lot of time with family and friends. It wasn't till a few days ago that I realized how much I appreciate my upbringing in this place... There is no coincidence, everyone I have come across in my life whether for just awhile or months and years, God has brought to my path for a reason. And I also believe that it works the other way round as well. I am grateful, extremely grateful.

Church camp was held in Taiping last weekend and it was great. The speakers talked about the Glory of the Lord over two sessions. It was quite a lot to take in but God definitely used them and spoke to all of us in His own way. I am still reflecting over what has been said and shared and pray that I will not forget.

As for this month, I'll be making a few trips to various places to conclude this break and meet up with people. And also, get working on that reading list.

I will be back soon. God bless!!

singapore

Just got back from Singapore this morning. Went there on Friday. I'm too lazy to go through the details so I'd just mention a few of the highlights of the trip;

- Festival of Praise 2011. Fri and Sat night. New Life Worship was amazing and worshipping God along with thousands of people was so uplifting. There were moments where I just stood there totally in awe and loss for words just imagining what it'd be like in heaven one day where everyone will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Such joy indeed. John Bevere, known for authoring great Christian titles was the speaker and he was a solid speaker. Thank God for using and speaking through him.

- Chilling, eating, walking around, going here and there. Need I say more?

- Just spending time with the brothers. :)

I'm grateful I was able to go on this trip. Thank You.

predictable

I'm a failure joke. I knew it!! I couldn't keep it up. But wait, it's not exactly my fault. I'm referring to my previous post where I was so enthusiastic about keeping a productive daily routine. But I have my reasons...

Thursday, had a dinner with family at a seafood restaurant. Pics with bro. The food was really good! Did abit of reading when I got back. Not totally wasted I guess.

Friday.. I went to Pangkor in the morning. Had a relaxing and great time. Wasn't just a normal holiday, but we went cause it was my cousin's 'bersanding' ceremony today. His mum married a Malay so that explains it. Overall the trip was good and perhaps the highlights were the ceremony today and our 'tour' yesterday. So my family stayed in a resort that they booked for us. We went over to their resort, and spend some time there and since dinner wasn't till very late, we decided to go out on our how. In Pangkor, there're pink vans as taxis.. The bride's dad actually owns that resort, one of the budget ones, so they have their own van.. And our 'taxi' driver for the night was... my dad. Lol. It was interesting, all of us in the van going round the island looking for a place to eat and ended up at Daddy's Cafe which had very good food. Came back this evening.

I watched a movie on Star Movies last night on Astro in the resort, Wedding Daze.. It's such a dumb show. The plot is dumb, the actress's character is annoying. I can't think what I actually liked about it. I was bored.

Anyway, as much as I'm worried about how little time I have left and I'm far from ready... Just relying on His strength now. :)

I still remember.

day trip

Had a day trip to Teluk Intan yesterday. Left at 9plus and we stopped by Lumut cause my dad had to collect something from a client. I think. Then we had lunch at a Bakuteh shop in Sitiawan. Pretty good. The soup was quite different from any I've tasted. Slightly thicker but nice. Reached my grandparent's place at 1plus. So happened the Aston Villa - Liverpool match replay was on so me and Stv watched; though we already knew the outcome. =). Went to visit my mum's classmate; her first reaction when she saw me was "You look bigger; So different.. etc." I just heard that remark from a friend two days ago.. So many have said the same thing. Hah. I guess I must've been really skinny last time for them to notice the difference. Putting the weight issues aside; we went to The Store to get school shoes for John.. Went back to the house and then at 7 we went for All-You-Can-Eat dinner at Pau Loong Banquet Hall. Pau Loong's actually a restaurant that has really good seafood; one of the regular places we go to. The buffet is another one of their projects and it's good.. The hall was really big; air-conditioned.. And you won't get yourself smelly or sweaty cause you don't have to grill anything yourself. All done for you. Pictures!!

Wedges, fries, cheese sausages, onion rings, fried squid balls, nuggets....

Mushroom in oyster sauce....

Sweet and sour crabs

All the different steamboat varieties. Beats MP flat.

There were more than 6 types of mushrooms..

Teluk Intan has really FRESH seafood.

The Sauce table

Cold desserts. Ice cream right next to it.

They even have popcorn..

Drinks counter

One of the workers making noodles..

One of my favourite dishes of the night; sooo good.

Chicken Wings..

Grilled Sambal Fish

Grilled Lamb and Chicken.

Guy preparing Chicken Chop.

Mushrooms

Dessert counter

Longan + Nata de Coco drink

Spicy Crabs... Ah

...........

He just loves spoiling pictures.

That was it... Didn't take pictures of everything of course.. Overall it was good; we were all satisfied. For adults; it was only 17.90.. 9.90 for kids below 140cm and free for small kids like my bro. Like I said earlier; beats MP flat; considering there's so much more variety; fresh seafood and at a much cheaper price. Reached home at 10.30 and went to Jason's house after that for CG gathering... Been so long since we got nearly all of us together... Reached just in time to take CG photo. That's bt it for now.. Another post coming up real soon. Now I'm out.

Lion City

Went down to Malacca on Saturday morning, had alot to eat for lunch. My aunt who is a teacher ordered Malay food for us from her canteen caterer... Chicken Rendang, Sambal prawns and 100 satay for 6 ppl... Went to some mall in Malacca at night to change currency.. The next morning, we headed to Singapore. Dropped in Stv's place to keep his things and took some of his unwanted stuff back.. Lol.. Met a crazy, angry aunty there who tested my patience.. I passed the test! No more details here. Haha. We went for the 11.30 service at my bro's church: Trinity Christian Centre.. The worship was great and sermon was simple to understand yet so vital and important for us..

Pictures now..

Pictures my dad took when we reached Sg.. That's the Singapore Flyer btw..

Lunch was at Marina Square.. My dad made me pose. And since I'm not a camwhore, I just stand la right??

We were checking out places to eat.. And we found....

Ryoichi Sushi.. 6.60 for a set meal. Which was pretty reasonable.. And they gave ice-cream as well and I had to break the wooden spoon. My bro pointed out how no one broke it except me. Wonder what that proves...

This was what I ordered.. Spent some time digging out onions... LOL. But it was nice..

Mother's Day.. She was happy =)

Seen it before?

Take a closer look... Those are macaroons.. Very nice and sweet.. Should try it.. =)

Dinner was at Fish & Co at dunno wat plaza at Orchard Road.. Seafood platter for two.. Good stuff..

Sole Picatta.. The fries were real good.

Monday morning went to Orchard Road again.. Plaza Singapura; had breakfast and lunch there... Lunch was at Mos Burger. Good food, again.. And I was craving for fries from Long John Silver's.. So we went there right after lunch.. At 3pm, we were already at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, bro's ex poly.. Haha.. Grad officially began at 4 and ended an hour later.. I expected it to be longer but it was good anyhow.

The Auditorium

Was walking around the campus taking pics.. Their new cafeteria..

This is where I SHOULD be at right now had I not changed my decision.. Strain your eyes to figure out what it says..

Sam took this pic.. Since I couldn't go there and there's no way I can right now, might as well just take a picture..

All in all, a very good trip.. That's all for now. =). And Stv, I owe you a post. Coming soon. Hah. -out-
