eating spree

I'm on an eating spree. At least that's what it seems like.

Grandparents and relatives from mom's side came down to Ipoh on Sunday to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday. Usually we all go to T.Intan, since that's where most of them are but decided to have a change this time around.

Dinner was at Menglembu East Ocean. After many pictureless posts, here goes. I shall make you drool.. Lol. Pictures taken by my cousin, was too absorbed with the food to bother.

"Fatt Tsoi" soup. Whatever it stands for, it was full of good stuff.

Cold dish/4 seasons. The presentation was great

Fried Cod Fish

Roast Lamb with "Man Tou"

"Ha Lok" style Prawns

Vegetable with Yam.. I actually liked it alot. Hah.

Wan Tan Noodles..

Some "Tong Sui".. I think it was Sweet Potato based.

Chintoi

Other pics

The flowers we got for grandma

8/15 grandchildren.

I was glad and I think nearly everyone was too. Good food and good company makes a worthy dinner.

T.Intan seafood restaurants are better in terms of freshness and price.. That being said, I was in T.I for the past few days. Went down with Mum and John on Sun afternoon and came back today. Been eating prawns for the past 3 days. And I downed around 500g of crabs two days ago. I can imagine what I'd be if I'd been living there all my life. Hah. Still, I'm thankful for being so blessed.

Till then!

to my best friend and cousin..

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY CONTY!!

2006. When we were young and innocent. Hah

I know I already wished you; and that's all I did and can do for now, so I've decided to dedicate this post to you. :)

We grew up together; I guess we've known each other for our whole lives. I still remember those times we used to hang out; me, Stv, you and Abel and do all the weird stuff. We used to go to the Stadium to play tennis but ended up picking balls up instead. We went places together; church camps, outings, sleepovers and crashing each other's houses.. I was so glad when we moved to live just a row away from you. Though you're 4 years younger than me, I never really felt like we had any gap in between us at all. We had our arguments here and there; we did cry over things as girls do. But those aren't the memories that live on; it's all the great ones we've had that continues to play in my mind. We were more like sisters since we only have brothers and yeah, I was really glad having you around..

Then things started to change, and it came to a point where it started to hurt us both. To realize that we were drifting apart. It was hard for me, that whole period and I know it was for you too. But I'm glad that after some time, it started getting better. Things didn't get back to the way it was before and to tell you the truth, sometimes I still wish it did. But I'm seeing now that not everything can go back to the way it used to be, however, it doesn't make it any different. We're still cousins, sisters, best friends :). And that's one thing that won't change, I promise you. I don't ever want to lose you either.

I hope you'll cherish those times like I did. Thanks for standing by me all this while; always being there for me.. You've always had my best interests at heart and I'm really sorry for all the things that happened in the past; the words I've said and things I did... You always were so forgiving and loving.. And you were always there.. You say you can't help me sometimes, but really, just listening is more than enough and I'm glad for all you've done for me... Truly grateful!

I'm so happy to see how much you've grown over the years and I'm proud of you!! Do know I'm always gonna be here for you and you can count on me. We can't expect things to be like before; but it doesn't mean we're any further apart... I miss you. =/.

Continue to be strong in the Lord.. Hold on and never let go! And remember, I'm here too! Love you loads!! :)

the family

Aunt came back after 6 weeks in NZ. It's a relief that I don't have to take care of the dogs anymore, it wasn't easy. I remember there were days I felt so drained but still managed to pull through cause I was depending on His strength. It's such a big difference. To try to carry a load you know you will never be able to do it alone; or to carry it while He carries you through.. It doesn't mean you won't feel tired; you just know that when all your strength runs out, He will provide you with all you need. Isn't it amazing? =)

I have learnt alot through the past weeks. I've seen the sacrifice my mum has been making by coming down on alternate weeks for a few days even though she has to tend to my lil bro and the house. Got much closer to her through these times too. I've begun to appreciate my family more, and realized the great support I've had throughout all these years. I owe much, if not all, of who I am today to my parents.. And my brothers too.. I'm missing them already. Sam's coming back in Dec from the States; Stv too - might be going down to Sg and come back with him, hope the plan goes on. And John, I really do miss him though he used to annoy me like crazy, but ever since I left home, everything's been so quiet and it doesn't feel so right. Though I know he misses me more than I do. Haha.

Mum, Samuel and I outside one of the buildings at Ngee Ann Poly, Sg

Will be seeing my parents and John next week; I'm going back on the 26th till college starts next year... Can't wait to be home though I'll be missing most of my college friends, but nothing beats being at home =). And Abel asked me what I'm gonna do when I go home besides 'eat, eat and eat.' LOL. Make a guess. -out.-

You're 21..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STV!

My very first post about and for a person. And since it's your birthday today, here goes. =)

Stephen, my dear bro..

It seems like it was just yesterday when we fought and now, you're 21..

I still remember the times when we were young.. We used to argue and fight.. Staying up till midnight to watch WWF.. And then trying out those 'stunts' in the room when everyone else was asleep. Hah.. And the scars we gave each other too.

To tell you the truth, I used to wonder what it would be like to have an older sister, but I realized that having you and Sam were such a blessing already.. Not to mention our little John now...

There were times I used to dislike you when we fought. But thanks to your scoldings and correction, I grew stronger and tougher..

3 years ago, when you left, I was devastated... To have the closest one in the family to leave was such a painful thought.. To know that everything was about to change from that point onward.. And the fact that we got much closer before you left didn't make things any better...

But as time went by, I got used to it.. And I was glad every time you came back.. I still remember all the long talks we had before sleeping. You were the one who understood me most.. And even though I don't say it, you know when I'm in pain. You were always the stronger one, and because of that, I felt I needed to be too..

Sorry to sound so emo.. But it's a fact that we can't go back to those times, it's only the memories we keep.. I'll cherish them and I hope you will remember them too..

For remembrance..

Then...

Then...

And now..

Thanks Stv, for all that you've done.. You, along with Sam are the best brothers one could ever have!! Your advice.. Your teasings, though it annoyed me sometimes, it was still fun.. Haha. And not to mention how you can read my mind.. Congrats for graduating.. We're proud of you. =). Always remember that God will sustain you through your hardest times. He will never fail and has it all planned for you... All the best in your future and have a great birthday! =) (And don't forget to tell me when you find that certain someone... After all, it's not something new for us to share about. =P)

p.s: God bless and we miss you loads. =/
